Guerrier was later named player of the game, as he made two free throws, spent 40 minutes in the game, and had a final point total of 13. The Jaguars beat the Gladiators 52-40 at the Nov. 30 game.

Strings sophomores Mia Hakkarainen, Andrew Zhu, and Jeffrey Bai sit in a semicircle as they practice for their small ensemble performance for this year’s annual Prism show. The group gathered in the band room for a quiet space to play. “It took a little bit for us to get it together,” Hakkarainen said. “We met every few weeks at Josetta’s (a pianist in the ensemble) house, and we just rehearsed and put our parts together slowly, and eventually, we were able to play it.”

Under the spotlight, theatre junior Von Markarian sits at his desk onstage while trying to figure out what to write in his play. “This show has been not the most prop heavy, but we had to make a lot of paper. Its about Shakespeare. Everybodys writing and reading the whole time,” theatre junior Lucas Green said. “We didnt want everybody to just be reading off of like bleached white paper. So we had to dye sheets of paper. We dyed them all brown with coffee.”

Students began designing and creating the elements of this set at the end of last year. “We had a professional painter, Sydney, come in and help us with the wood grating. I think it looks really good with the set, and I think it serves the show really well,” theatre junior Kylie Glassgold said.

After an assembly overviewing school rules and school spirit, communications senior Kate Wagner laughs as she relaxes in the cafeteria with fellow volunteers and incoming students. Freshmen learned the chant specific to their graduating class so they would be prepared for this years pep rally. “As soon as we introduce that chant, you kind of feel the connection with your classmates, and that continues throughout the four years.” Wagner said.
