Fantasy Fillers: Sleepers and Busts for Week 6

The NFL has been through a lot of excitement this season, and expect that to continue in Week 6. QB Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers will face off against QB Alex Smith and the Chiefs. Coming off a five interception week, expect Roethlisberger to turn it around. In other exiting games, check out the Rams and the Jaguars, which will feature future Pro Bowl running backs Todd Gurley and Leonard Fournette.

Sleepers

Jacoby Brissett, QB – Coming off of a strong performance against the San Francisco 49ers, Brissett is poised for an encore performance against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night. Since he has stepped in as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, he has posted the 13th highest point total for the position. With Titan QB Marcus Mariota questionable to play, the Colts will be in scoring positions early and often.

Ryan Griffin, TE – After the emergence of Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, the receivers on the team have exploded this season. Will Fuller V has four touchdowns, and DeAndre Hopkins has five TDs on the season. Expect Griffin to thrive in a fantasy-friendly offense against the Cleveland Browns, who have allowed the second most points to opposing tight ends this year.

Pierre Garcon, WR – Revenge is best served cold. The Washington Redskins let Garcon go in the offseason, and the 49ers picked him up. Former Redskins coach Kyle Shanahan is also ready for revenge come Sunday. With cornerback Josh Norman doubtful for the game, Garcon should expect a heavy workload.

Busts

Carlos Hyde, RB – Out-carried. Out-rushed. Out-targeted. Out-performed. Carlos Hyde has been trending in the wrong direction over the past two weeks as running back Matt Breida has been given a larger workload. Hyde is in a contract year, and the 49ers want to see what they have in their younger players. If this trend continues, he will be out of San Francisco and out of fantasy lineups moving forward.

Davante Adams, WR – Adams has been outstanding this year for the Green Bay Packers, posting 285 yards and four touchdowns. However, this Sunday, he faces one of the toughest tests against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have only allowed three receiving TDs this year, so expect the rough streak for opposing receivers this weekend.

Marshawn Lynch, RB – Averaging 3.4 yards per carry this year and only two touchdowns, Lynch hasn’t been anything special. With such high expectations for his comeback year, he has surely been a disappointment. Don’t let the easy matchup fool you this week, as more of the same will continue for Lynch.
