
Looking out into the audience, theatre senior Aissa Duclervil performs a group poetry piece regarding African American history as a part of the Black Student Union’s (BSU) portion of the Multicultural Show.

Performing a salsa routine together, dance junior Patrick Richardson and theatre junior Sade Leandre dance as part of the Caribbean Heritage Club’s (CHC) segment of the Multicultural Show.

Kneeling during an interpretive dance to Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Going to Come,” theatre sophomore Jonathan Williams faces the audience while a screen projects historical African American figures behind him. “The most important thing about my performance was to relay the message of struggle and being able to overcome it,” Williams said.

Performing a rendition of “La Mentira” by Álvaro Carrillo, vocal senior Alex Matos sings and plays the guitar for the Latin Hispanic Heritage Club (LHHC) portion of the Multicultural Show.

Playing a rendition of “Theme from Schindler’s List,” strings junior Samuel Schear performs during Jewish Student Union’s (JSU) portion of the annual multicultural showcase. “Schindler’s List,” an Academy Award-winning film, depicts the persecution of Jewish people during the Holocaust.

Strumming the strings of the guzheng, piano sophomore Avery Li accompanies singers during Asian Cultural Society's (ACS) Chinese heritage performance during the multicultural showcase. The guzheng is a traditional Chinese instrument which typically has 21 strings and is played by hand.

Singing a rendition of “Runaway Baby” by Bruno Mars, vocal senior Sage Duke and piano senior Micah Sachsenheimer smile together while performing. Duke and Sachsenheimer’s performance accompanied Asian Cultural Society’s (ACS) tinikling piece, a traditional Filipino dance that involves jumping over rapidly clapping bamboo poles.

The jazz band performs “Suavemente,” a Puerto Rican merengue song, during the Latin and Hispanic Heritage Club’s (LHHC) portion of the multicultural show.

Jumping into the air, theatre sophomore Jonathan Williams dances to “Change Is Gonna Come,” by Al Green as a solo Black Student Union (BSU) performance. Williams’s performance was accompanied by projected imagery of moments in African American history, including pictures of Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm Little, and George Floyd.
