A Year in the Arts
Communications senior Kiara Benoit walks back to her table after receiving the Designer of the Year award. “At first I was really nervous, because when we were waiting for them to announce the award, everyone was telling me that I can do it but I didn't want to disappoint them,” Benoit said. “But then when they called my name, I was so excited and surprised to be recognized in front of all those schools. I just feel like everything that I've done on The Muse for these past three years has built up to this moment, and it was great to leave my last FSPA and last year on the publication knowing that despite the hard work, it was all worth it.”

Recording the freshmen Battle of the Bands performance, Principal Blake Bennett acts as a judge for this Spirit Week event. Battle of the Bands takes place in the gymnasium, and each class performs songs from their assigned genre. The freshmen were country, sophomores were techno, juniors were beach bops, seniors were Y2K.

The Confusing Priorities of Feminism
Aiming her throw, band junior Hinav Kour Ahmad prepares to release her discus on her second attempt at the Royal Palm Beach Invitational. During competitions, athletes receive three attempts, with their longest recorded throw being their final mark, Ahmad’s being 18.12 meters. “I wanted to try another throwing event and expand my involvement in field events while learning a new skill because discus throwing is much harder than it seems,” Ahmad said.
Speed, Strength, and Skill
As the cheer team welcomes the seniors onto the court, vocal senior Jack Meller walks through the line accompanied by his parents. “I feel like it's pretty sad because I've been on it (the team) all four years of high school, and I really can't imagine myself leaving because it was just such an amazing experience for me,” Meller said. “It's like a second family, because we've just created this special bond, and I mean nothing else compares to it. I just love and cherish the memories I've had with all of my teammates."

Dodgeball’s Opening Run at Spirit Week
Tipping their cowboy hat, theatre sophomore Kayla Ledger performs in the gymnasium with other members of the cheerleading team. “So much work gets put into productions like these,” Ledger said. “We practice pep, rally dances, and cheers one to two months ahead of time to ensure perfection and technique so that we can be prepared for pep rallies and halftime shows.”
Pom-Poms and Prep
Beginning the race, visual junior Max Cannon, alongside other teammates and runners, starts the Jupiter XC Invite #2 hosted by Jupiter Community High School, an almost three-mile course located in Okeeheelee Park. Cannon’s sisters, Maria, a visual sophomore, and visual junior Amelie Cannon, cheer him on from the sidelines. “It’s really nice to have Maria and Amelie giving the support I need to be successful, even in the stands and after, for the celebrations,” Max Cannon said.
