Principal Blake Bennett announced the school’s Pathfinder High School Scholarship nominees Dec. 5 over the intercom at the beginning of fourth period. Following Mrs. Bennett’s instructions, the nominees proceeded to the Magnet Office in Building 2, where they were met and congratulated by her, as well as the School Counseling Team, and handed a packet with directions on the scholarship process. 

The Pathfinder High School Scholarship Award, sponsored by The Palm Beach Post, is available for high school seniors across all public and private high schools in Palm Beach and Martin County who have demonstrated “outstanding achievement” in at least one of 18 academic, vocational, athletic, and art categories including Mathematics, Career and Technical Education, Sports, and Theater Arts. Seniors were able to apply for scholarship nominations through an email sent by the School Counseling Team Nov. 5. Those interested filled out a Google Form, submitting themselves for consideration as the school’s chosen nomination for one or more categories; however, a student can only be selected for one category.

A financial award is provided for the top four winners of each category as follows:

First Place: $3,000

Second Place: $2,000

Third Place: $1,500

Fourth Place: $1,250

Students that place in the top three of their category will be featured in The Palm Beach Post and commemorated during the award ceremony.
