[BRIEF] YoungArts Winners Announced

YoungArts, a national foundation, hosts an annual contest to award artists in categories such as music, dance, design, film, jazz, photography, theatre, visual arts, voice, and writing. Award winners receive prizes between $250 and $10,000, along with “a lifetime of creative and professional support,” as stated on their website. Winners with distinction are invited to National YoungArts Week, where they can collaborate with fellow winners across disciplines. 

The following Dreyfoos students are YoungArts award winners:

Vocal senior Andrew Gellen – Voice/Classical – Tenor

Theatre senior Austin Bailly – Theater/Musical

Theatre senior Isaiah Butler – Theater/Spoken (Winner with Distinction)

Band senior Aaron Pereira – Jazz/Composition

Visual senior Violet Lay – Film/Experimental

Dance sophomore Jordyn Sarmoen – Dance/Modern-Contemporary

Theatre junior Kentrell Taylor – Voice/Popular
