The Dreyfoos dance department performed their annual fall showcase, this year titled “Keep It Movin’” Nov. 10-12. Dance dean Heather Lescaille described the show as a way to “reflect on the obstacles (the dance department has) faced over recent years” in her “Letter from the Dean” published in the show’s program.

“Keep It Movin’” opened with “Seasons,” a piece choreographed by dance teacher Ricardo Pena that showcased Modern and Contemporary Repertory and Ballet Repertory dancers, set to music by Antonio Vivaldi, recomposed by Max Richter. The concert concluded with “Two O Two Four,” a high-energy jazz number that highlighted the graduating class, set to a remix of Beyoncé’s “Run the World” and choreographed by dance teacher Garry Q. Lewis.

“Being able to perform the pieces we spent months working on every day was really rewarding,” dance sophomore Sydney Broadfield said. “It really brought the whole department closer together.”
