“Threads of Time,” a series of paintings by visual senior Riley Shea, debuted in the art gallery in Building 9 on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The series features differently shaped and sized acrylic paintings with bead embellishments, tying themes of “the intricate reality of life” and how “perception and experiences shift” as one grows up, according to Shea’s artist statement.
“Having (the paintings in this collection) all in one space with all the cohesive imagery and themes and (them being) viewed together both by me and by people I care about, like my friends and teachers who have helped me, feels very final … it’s kind of like a reflection of everything up to now,” Shea said.
The gallery closes on Dec. 16.

Teens, AKA test takers, [will] hopefully relate to at least one of the figures shown," visual junior Giovanna Romano said about the cartoon above. "I thought it would be a good idea to illustrate how different people handle hard tests, and different emotional reactions to not knowing the answer."](https://www.themuseatdreyfoos.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Image-from-iOS.jpg)
