Spirit Week: Day 1 Dodge Ball

In the first event of Spirit Week, the freshmen and sophomores took on the juniors and seniors in a game of dodgeball. The original plan to play kickball on the soccer field was cancelled due to rain.

In a best-of-three competition, the upperclassmen won the first round. In the second round the underclassmen would rally to tie the event up led by communications freshman Zachary Stoloff and band freshman Thomas DeVito, who found himself as the last man standing in the second and third rounds.

“We played very well,” Stoloff said. “I believe we exceeded the expectations of the upperclassmen and even ourselves. It was certainly competitive and exciting.”

In the third and final round to determine the winner, the upperclassmen prevailed with the leadership of communications senior Steffan Gawlikowski and band senior Logan Penrod.

“I think we played really well,” Gawlikowski said. “With most of the crowd being upperclassmen, it helped a lot.”
