Greatness is not given – it is earned. The Dreyfoos boys basketball team that was started by assistant coach and physical education teacher John Webb many years ago has surpassed the expectations of a regular Dreyfoos sports team. This year they are looking to gain their second North Conference title. If the team wins tomorrow night against Community Christian Academy, the Jaguars will be crowned the North Division champions, and will receive a banner that will be hung in the gymnasium.
“It’s a conference game so [we are working] really hard to to play together [and] defend better,” music senior Tyren Woods said. “I got [the North Conference Title] my sophomore season so if we got it back again tomorrow it would be great and it’s the best way to leave in my last year.”
The team has made major improvements since last year’s rebuilding season. Social studies teacher and boys basketball coach Jeffrey Stohr has laid the groundwork for these players to succeed by helping them cooperate as a team and improve on their team chemistry.
“[We are in ]a position to win the [North Conference title]. Anytime you are in a position to win a championship or win a title or get a banner you’ve done things the right way,” Mr. Stohr said. “In some ways we have exceeded expectations. Since last season we got older, a little wiser, and some of the guys picked up some more skills. To get two division titles in three years, it shows you how hard the kids worked.”

!["I hope [my image] evokes reliability and/or understanding. Teens, AKA test takers, [will] hopefully relate to at least one of the figures shown," visual junior Giovanna Romano said about the cartoon above. "I thought it would be a good idea to illustrate how different people handle hard tests, and different emotional reactions to not knowing the answer."](https://www.themuseatdreyfoos.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Image-from-iOS.jpg)
