Guerrier was later named player of the game, as he made two free throws, spent 40 minutes in the game, and had a final point total of 13. The Jaguars beat the Gladiators 52-40 at the Nov. 30 game.

Lily Gumbinner, Design Staffer

Lily Gumbinner is a communications junior and a Layout staffer on The Muse. This is her second year as a Layout Staffer, as she is interested in design and creating graphics. Her favorite part of The Muse is the layout meetings; she enjoys coming up with new ideas for spreads. She is also a film student within the communications department. Outside of school, Lily is a competitive horseback rider. She hopes to go to college for animal sciences to become a large animal veterinary surgeon.

The word ‘Preservation’ (from left to right) in Somali, Hebrew, English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and German. “It requires a mental discipline to switch and exclusively speak your parents language when you are with them, and not speak English,” said communications freshman Kaja Andric. Many students at Dreyfoos learned their parents language to preserve their parents culture.

Science dean Stephen Anand teaches his AP Biology class. Being the dean of his department can be difficult, but it is often a rewarding job. Sometimes, I am not thrilled with all that comes with the job, Anand said. Sometimes people describe it as, the responsibility with none of the authority,’ and that is pretty much true. It is a bit of a challenge, but I am happy to do it as long as my friends want me to do it.
