Communications junior Cooper Weisman and piano senior Ashesh Amatya competed at the Palm Beach Regional Science Fair Dec. 8. The event featured over 600 students’ research developments in the science and engineering fields. After a month of waiting, both Weisman and Amatya were recognized on Jan. 6 over Zoom for their projects in Engineering and Environmental Engineering respectively. They now progress to the state level, where qualifying students from Florida will compete for the top three prizes.

“I’m excited to move on to the next level and see what my peers have been working on,” Weisman said. “There (were) impressive experiments at the regional level, so the state level is going to be the next level of that.”

Amatya will also represent the school at the Palm Beach Pathfinder Awards as the science candidate.
