Musical Swings debut on Clematis St. for limited time
Communications junior Chloe Krammel swings on The Musical Swings on Feb. 4, the day of its opening. The installation closes on March 6 and operates every day on Clematis St.
The Musical Swings, a collective music installation created by studio Daily tous les jours, made its first East Coast debut in Clematis. The Swings will be open until March 6 on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. The Swings allow participants to make music with their entire bodies, to connect to one another, and to have a sense of ownership of public space due to the music they create.
Each swing emits the notes of either a guitar, piano, vibraphone or harp when used. The higher the swing, the higher the note. When used together, the swings compose a musical piece in which certain melodies emerge only through cooperation.
The swings have attracted millions of fans to the Quartier des spectacles area in Montréal, where every day each swing has swung an average of 8,500 times. It now comes to Downtown West Palm Beach to bring our residents and visitors together.

!["I hope [my image] evokes reliability and/or understanding. Teens, AKA test takers, [will] hopefully relate to at least one of the figures shown," visual junior Giovanna Romano said about the cartoon above. "I thought it would be a good idea to illustrate how different people handle hard tests, and different emotional reactions to not knowing the answer."](https://www.themuseatdreyfoos.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Image-from-iOS.jpg)
