Students created vibrant displays to attract buyers during the visual department’s art sale on March 12 during lunch.

During lunch, the land under the Banyan tree commonly referred to as “Freshman Hill” was colorfully decorated with art created by visual students. These works are usually meant for viewing purposes only, but today, the art was for sale. Ranging from t-shirts, to small figurines and stickers, there was a wide variety of pieces to choose from. Visual juniors and seniors spread towels and blankets in the grass, adding snacks and signs to the displays of their personal work.

"I made T-shirts of some [of my] designs," visual junior Isamar Jaquez said. I'm known to make stuff about cake and sweets and I created a design of "I wanted to make a design of my [anime] characters June and Candy, and I put them on a shirt."

"These are backpack patches they're all handmade and embroidered and silk screen printed," visual senior Amelia Harrell said.

"I sell greeting cards, I watercolor them and scan the image onto the cards," visual sophomore Bailey Triggs. "A couple people have bought them and it's really fun."

"I make a lot of rubbercuts, prints and patches," visual senior Ari Kijanka said. "I think [the art sale is] great I need extra money I make minimum wage at my job so this is great.

Michelle Birch, Editor-In-Chief
Communications senior Michelle Birch is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Muse. She enjoys writing and loves contributing to the production of the publication as much as possible. She is always interested in helping the staff whenever she can. Along with journalism, Birch finds interest in the film aspect of communications. Birch spends her time out of school either taking drives to the beach, preparing for college applications or kickboxing at her local boxing club. Over the summer Birch had the opportunity to intern at a local publishing firm, which gave her exciting ideas to bring to The Muse. Her dream is to become the Editor-in-Chief of a high profile magazine and plans to make this happen throughout her college career and later years of life. Whether or not her plans change, Birch hopes to be successful wherever she may end up.
