LAUNCH (Linking Access, Unity, Networking, Collaboration, and Higher Education) is the Dreyfoos counseling team’s event open to the entire county, featuring five nationally recognized colleges: Cornell University, Emory University, Pomona College, Rice University, and Washington University in St. Louis. This is the first time Dreyfoos has hosted LAUNCH, with the purpose of introducing students, parents, and the school community to college opportunities and information on higher education. The event was held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, in Meyer Hall and the cafeteria from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event was open to everyone in the county, and attendees were able to learn about each of the schools’ admissions processes, academic programs, and campus life through presentations. Towards the end of the event, students and parents were able to participate in a college fair-style event where booths were set up for each school, allowing attendees to interact with university representatives and make connections.

“This event provided so much insight to me, getting to know the schools and their representatives,” visual junior Gauri Gupta said. “Our counseling department put a lot of work into this event, and it’s something that should be appreciated.”
