Nail Narcotics

Nail Narcotics

A nail art revolution has exploded; from Kendall Jenner’s famous claws to Vanessa Hudgens’ elaborate embellishments, the blank canvases on our fingers have had quite a bit of attention recently. Nail painting is something that can easily be undermined but is truly a creative emancipation and a fun form of self expression. The evolution from the classic french manicure to nail art has recently transitioned into the fashion hot seat. This new, eyebrow-raising trend is high-profile, and taking over Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest. Not to mention that every red carpet now features a “nail cam,” where celeb’s fingers walk a mini-runway, all to display their crazy eclectic nail combinations.

I too am a nail fanatic and make my way every four weeks to the nail salon. For about three hours I sit and get my nails painted, each time with a different theme and pattern. Having the perfect manicure boosts a woman’s confidence and is the ultimate accessory and finishing touch for any outfit. Whether you have matte black tips, an intricate design or a bright color, the way you paint your nails has become a direct reflection of who you are, what your mood is or what kind of statement you want to make of yourself. Try an elaborate design or bold color to keep your nail game strong. Here are my nail styles through the past few months and some inspiration for your nails:

On another note, watch out for what I call “music Tuesdays” on iTunes. Every Tuesday iTunes updates with loads of new albums and singles and also gives everyone the opportunity to download a free single. This weeks free single was “Pretend” ft. A$AP Rocky by Tinashe.
