Guerrier was later named player of the game, as he made two free throws, spent 40 minutes in the game, and had a final point total of 13. The Jaguars beat the Gladiators 52-40 at the Nov. 30 game.

One of the biggest obstacles in the fight to ban assault weapons is the National Rifle Association (NRA), who, according to BBC News, spends over three million dollars each year to influence America’s gun policy. The NRA also puts millions more into politicians’ campaigns that support Second Amendment rights.

Students and faculty participated in a schoolwide walkout on March 14, which consisted of speeches from students and 17 minutes of silence in honor of the 17 victims. “I was just thinking about the victims,” communications senior Zachary Stoloff said. “For each minute, representing each victim, I would keep their name in my mind, and think about who they were as people from the countless stories I heard on the news.” After the moment of silence, Principal Dr. Susan Atherley delivered tear-jerking words about how unimaginable it would be to lose Dreyfoos students.
