Lilly Randolph, Assistant Managing Editor

Communications senior Lillian Randolph is a third-year staffer on The Muse. Before becoming Assistant Managing Editor, Randolph was a Sports staffer for two years. Her stories in that section have allowed her to earn two awards from The Palm Beach Post and one from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Aside from journalism, Randolph is involved in many activities. She is captain of the girls’ golf team for the third year in a row, president of Dreyfoos’ GLOCAL club, and also writes for SEEDS literary magazine. Randolph stays involved in the church community by regularly participating in her church’s high school group. In addition, she enjoys watching football, traveling, and spending time with family. She loves reading books, missing One Direction, and all things preppy. Randolph is so excited for this year on The Muse and can’t wait to see what the amazing staff will do.

After being presented with flowers, gifts, and reflective speeches for Senior Night from Coach Sarah Garcia and the rest of the girls’ soccer team, a group of seniors gathered in the field at Forest Hill Community High School for a photo. Visual senior Alison MacCloud and vocal senior Danielle Gellen embraced each other with hugs and laughs as they prepared to compete in one of their last games of the season and their high school careers. The girls went on to compete in a district playoff game against Seminole Ridge High School.

Communications senior Brianna Seaberg follows through with her tennis racket after returning the ball to her opponent. This year marks the fourth year that Seaberg has played for the Dreyfoos tennis team and the first that she has been co-captain. Along with her many other interests, especially film, tennis is a special part of Seaberg’s life that she values as one of her favorite activities. “My favorite part about tennis is that you have to solely rely on yourself,” Seaberg said. “Since tennis is an individual sport, you can have control over every aspect of your own game.”

As a rapidly growing franchise, the Museum of Ice Cream introduced its newest location to Miami Beach on Dec. 13, 2017 and has since attracted thousands of visitors. Tickets must be pre-ordered online and often sell out very quickly. The museum is known to bring in guests who are looking to snap the perfect Instagram photo rather than participate in the typical experience commonly associated with museums.

Communications senior Skyler Buitrago embraces his younger brother, band freshman Nico Buitrago, after Nico delivered a tear-jerking speech thanking his brother for their most memorable times together growing up. As Skyler and other seniors on the team prepare to graduate, a special ceremony was held at their final regular season game, where families and fellow players honored the seniors. “Playing with Nico was great,” Skyler said. “We’re at the age gap where I wasn’t in middle school with him so I only get this one year in school with him before I head out. I’m going to keep working with him and pushing him because he’s an amazing athlete, and he will see that very soon. I’m so glad that my for my last year at Dreyfoos I was able to spend the season with him by my side.”

In 1987, the campus where Dreyfoos School of the Arts now lies belonged to Twin Lakes High School. Here, students of Twin Lakes enjoy their lunch around campus three years before the historic game. The sidewalk in front of the school was one of the most popular social spots for students.
