Competitive Spirit Week calls for an unforgettable Pep Rally

The most anticipated day of the Dreyfoos school year is almost here. The pep rally will host numerous competitions to finally determine the winner of spirit week. Events include the postponed sidewalk chalk, musical chairs, teacher dress up and class dances.

Amid dreary weather, with relentless rain and tornado watches, the students spirit has not been deterred. On multiple occasions, there have been some crazy underdog wins. The sophomores pulled off an upset against the seniors to win the Tug-of-War competition. An event that is usually won by the seniors. The freshmen were awarded second place in the generation dance above both the sophomores and juniors.

Possibly the most interesting highlight of the week has been the sophomores overall success. As of Thursday, Jan. 28, the sophomores have a solid lead against the all the other grades. The seniors with 723 points are 116 points behind the sophomores, who have 839 points. For the seniors to win the spirit stick, they will have to offset the sophomores continued winning streak.
